DIGITAL IMAGES QUESTIONS

Let's say, for example....

Think you want to print out a photograph with a size of DIN A4: 210 × 297 mm maintaining a printing quality of 200 dpi. Which resolution would the image need?

So, we want to print out an image of 210 x 297 mm, knowing that 1 inch=25.4mm we can start calculating our results.
>210:25.4= 8.27 (approximately)
>297:25.4=11.7 (approximately)
And now, we multiply it by the dpi we want.
>8.27x200=1660
>11.7x200=2340
And there we have it, we would need an image with a resolution of 1660x2340 pixels.

However, I know some of you still have questions like: Which resolution would the same picture need to have a 300 dpi picture?

Well, it would be very simple. Knowing our image is 8.27x11.7 inches, we just have to multiply these numbers by 300 dpi instead of 200.
>8.27x300=2480
>11.7x300=3510
So, for 300 dpi, our resolution should be 2480x3510.

I believe both of those questions sum up everything pretty nicely, but if you still have doubts, then don't worry because I've got you covered! Tune in every once in a while because this won't be the last time I answer this type of questions. So, you may be lucky and find what you are looking for!.
